Engagement Shoot with Courtney Lee Photography

A while back Courtney asked me if I would like to do an engagement shoot with her. Me being a picture whore, of cores I said yes. Bob agreed to it under the condition that he got to pick the location. He chose Evergreen. These are some of my favorite from the shoot.
                                                                           Enjoy!

If you’re interested in booking Courtney for a shoot here is her contact info. She does senior portraits, head shots, engagement photos, and wedding photos.

D.I.Y. Paper Cards

I just wanted to share some D.I.Y cards I sent to my cousins. I didn't have a lot of money at the time so I came up with this.

New Job + New Home = New Bike!

Things have been just a bit hectic around here…just a bit. Bob and I have both gotten new jobs, him with Bentek Energy and me with History Colorado. We moved in to a lovely little condo with an amazing view just off Green Mountain in Lakewood. The trails and outdoor activities the area has to offer are thoroughly enjoyable. Also, the amount of money and energy we have put in to this move has been unreal. I had no idea it would cost so much.

Some other things that have been going on…

I just finish with exams and the semester with all B’s and my sanity. Not too bad for my track recorded.

I made a new friend who owns her own photography business. We meet for coffee every once and a while. She’s pretty awesome so check her out.

I've joined a book club. We meet once a month and are currently reading Bossy pants by Tina Fey. Last month was Her Fearful Symmetry, which was an awful book by the way.
So with a new job, new home, and pretty much a new life I thought this would be a great time for a new bike. Meet Fanny! Or that’s what Bob calls her till I can think of a name. I NEED to think of a better name. Suggestions anyone?

So far she’s a great bike. I've taken her on a loop to Morrison, up to Denver on Clear Creek Trail and even over Dinosaur Ridge. We’re going on an outing tomorrow, maybe to Bear Creek. Not yet, sure but we will see.

Playing Tourist for the Day

During Spring break a few weeks back, it occurred to me that I had been living in Golden for two years and had yet to really see any of it. So having nothing to do for a few hours I decided to play tourist for the day; or at least till Bob came back from his 40mile bike ride(such an over achiever. So armed with my new camera (and leaving my wallet at home to avoid temptation) I bravely ventured in to town.
First Stop: The Rewind Consignment Shop

During the week I park right across the street from this place and have fought with myself many times about going in or not. I have to tell you, I really wish I had gone in that first time. This shop is one of Golden’s hidden gems.  It’s located at the corner of 13TH and Arapaho street, across from the church. The store owner’s name is Kerry and she’s been in business since 2009. She has a great personality and is very easy to talk to. You can tell how much she loves what she does.

Rewind was voted Best of Westword 2011. They carry a wide range of good quality items from furniture to clothing and accessories, purses and other various around the house items. This place is great because there are always new items coming in. You never know what you are going to find, so visit often. I went back a few days later and scooped up a pair of blue open toe flats for just $12 and LOVE them. :)

If you're interested in selling something, go talk with Kerry. Once the item passes inspection you both agree on a price and profit is split 50/50. Not a bad deal. I’m thinking of taking in some dresses that have been sitting in my closet for the last few years. This is definitely worth checking out!

And The Venue Is...

The Solterra Retreat

The date is set for August 10th 2013. We ended up pushing the date back a year due to money issues. On the bright side the trees will be quite a bit larger. Here is a preview of the venue.  Enjoy!
